What Happened to These Books and Why Are Some Sedona Ashe Books Not Available?

If you’ve ever looked at one of my series on Amazon and thought:

“Wait… why does this say Book 1 of 2 or Book 1 of 3 if the next book isn’t listed anywhere?”

You are not imagining things, and you are definitely not the only person who has been confused by this.

I wanted to put together one clear update here, because I know this has caused a lot of concern, especially for readers who are only just catching up now and are worried that a series has been abandoned.

So let me say the important part first:

No, I have not given up on these series.

I am still committed to finishing all of them.

And because I’m a reader first, I know exactly what it feels like to get emotionally invested in a series only for it to never be finished. That kind of unfinished-series trauma is very real, and I have no interest in putting my readers through it.

So why does Amazon show books that aren’t there?

Usually, it comes down to how Amazon handles series and preorders.

At one point, a future book may have been linked to the series on Amazon, which means Amazon started showing that series as having another book in it.

That’s why you may see things like:

  • Book 1 of 2
  • Book 1 of 3
  • or references inside earlier books saying the next title would release on a certain date

The problem is that if those plans later change, Amazon doesn’t always update everything neatly on the reader side.

So even if a preorder was removed, delayed, or no longer visible, Amazon may still continue showing the series as though the next book is already attached to it.

Which is… not especially helpful.

Why did some of those release plans change?

If you’re only catching up on updates now, the short version is this:

Last year, I had to push back a number of projects because of my health.

That included flare-ups, physical limitations, brain fog, and a stretch of time where even day-to-day life was taking far more out of me than usual.

Because of that, I had to step back from some of the timelines and preorders that had been set up earlier. It wasn’t an easy decision, and it definitely wasn’t the one I wanted, but it was the right one.

I would much rather delay a book than force myself to rush through it while unwell, or worse, keep promising dates I can’t confidently meet.

The good news?

I am back to writing.

And while I’m still being careful not to throw around release dates too early, I am actively working again.

A lot of the confusion right now is coming from older series pages, old metadata, and outdated references that still exist in places readers can see them, even though the books themselves had to be pushed back.

That understandably creates worry, especially when readers assume the missing book means the series has been dropped.

It hasn’t.

These are some of the books readers have asked about most often:

  • Dino Magic #4
  • Flawed Fates #3
  • Three of Me #2
  • Just Walk It Off #2
  • TBR #2

All of these are still part of my current writing plans.

They have not been forgotten, and they have not been abandoned.

They are simply taking longer than originally hoped because life and health forced me to slow down in a way I didn’t originally plan for.

So if a series page looks weird… what should you believe?

Believe the actual update.

Not the weird Amazon ghost metadata.
Not the old estimated date buried in the back of a previous book.
Not the “Book 1 of 2” label that makes it look like something is missing from the shelves of the internet.

If I have a real update to share, I will share it.

And if I don’t have a date yet, that does not mean I’ve disappeared or given up. It usually just means I’m being careful not to create more disappointment by promising something too soon.

Where should you check for the most accurate updates?

If you ever want to know what’s actually happening, the best places to check are:

That’s where I’ll always share the most current information when I have it.

Thank you for caring enough to notice the details, and thank you even more for being patient while I work my way back through these stories properly.

I know waiting is frustrating.

But I promise, I’m still here, I’m still writing, and I’m still finishing what I started.

Love,

Sedona Ashe
